Girl Effect is seeking a talented Data Scientist with expertise in Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to innovate and expand their AI-powered platforms. Job Title: Data Scientist Location: Remote (worldwide) Closing Date: 29th June 2026 Contract: Not specified This remote, global role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge AI solutions that positively impact the lives of vulnerable young girls worldwide. • Develop and optimize GenAI and LLM-based features within Girl Effect’s digital platforms • Design and implement complex conversational pathways for mental wellbeing and health interventions • Ensure user safety through responsible AI practices, rigorous evaluation metrics, and secure chatbot interactions • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including data scientists, subject matter experts, and developers • Guide architectural decisions and contribute to the organization’s AI strategy • Conduct experiments, code reviews, and contribute to the technical growth of the team • Represent Girl Effect’s data science vision at events and partner meetings • Postgraduate degree in Data Science or relevant discipline • Proven experience building with modern AI frameworks and models like GPT, Gemini, Claude • Deep understanding of LLMs and GenAI technologies • Passionate about responsible AI and safeguarding vulnerable users • Skilled communicator with ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a technical roadmap in an agile environment • Mission-driven with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on girls’ lives • Advanced degree in Data Science or related field • Extensive technical acumen in AI and software development lifecycle • Demonstrated expertise in LLM and GenAI application • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills • Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams • Passion for Girl Effect’s mission and values As the organization scales, you will be part of a diverse, innovative team committed to transforming the lives of adolescent girls through technology.
