Contract Type:

Contract Duration:

This is a home-based role, ideally within UTC to UTC+3 time zones, and offers a chance to make a real impact in sustainable development and climate action!
The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) was launched in 2013 by CIFOR-ICRAF in collaboration with core partners including UNEP and the World Bank, with funding support from the Governments of Germany, Canada, Luxembourg, and the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
Today, GLF is recognised as the world’s largest knowledge-led forum on sustainable landscapes, with 35 leading development and environmental organisations serving as Charter Members. Since its inception, GLF has connected more than 25,000 organisations, engaged 1.3 million young people, collaborated with over 100 governments, and reached billions of people across 185 countries through traditional and digital media platforms.
Through initiatives in sustainable finance, learning, youth engagement, and locally led development, GLF continues to strengthen local knowledge and action toward ecosystem restoration and sustainable development.
Established in 2020, the GLFx network brings together more than 60 community-led chapters and locally rooted organisations across Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
The network supports restoration, conservation, advocacy, ecopreneurship, and collective action initiatives that strengthen local livelihoods, cultural heritage, and community knowledge systems.
Through trust-based and equity-centred collaboration, GLFx chapters benefit from peer learning, networking opportunities, media visibility, participation in regional and global events, and access to funding and partnerships that support landscape action.
The GLFx Global Coordinator will serve as the global focal point for the GLFx network, with a special focus on the Africa region.
The successful candidate will lead the strategic coordination, growth, and strengthening of the network across regions while working closely with the Community & Action team, regional officers, Youth programme, Learning, Knowledge, Digital Communications, Sustainable Finance teams, and external partners.
The position aims to build a vibrant, connected, and action-oriented global community rooted in sustainable landscapes and locally led development.
• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the GLFx strategy in alignment with GLF and CIFOR-ICRAF priorities.
• Ensure integration and collaboration among GLF programmes, including Youth, Learning, Knowledge, Digital Communications, Sustainable Finance, and Administration.
• Coordinate the global GLFx ecosystem across Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
• Facilitate co-creation and consultation processes with chapters, local organisations, and the GLFx Steering Committee.
• Guide the development and delivery of flagship programmes, including learning journeys, mentorship initiatives, grant calls, hubs, and media collaborations.
• Oversee chapter selection, onboarding, and engagement processes while ensuring compliance with membership guidelines.
• Support and coordinate Community and Action regional and thematic officers to foster effective communication and collaboration.
• Develop practices that strengthen belonging, shared identity, and collaboration among GLFx chapters.
• Coordinate with Digital Communications and Knowledge teams to enhance visibility across websites, newsletters, campaigns, and communication platforms.
• Amplify stories of local leadership, community action, and landscape restoration initiatives.
• Develop engagement plans and activities that encourage collaboration among chapters, partners, and the wider GLF community.
• Foster partnerships among GLFx chapters, GLF Charter Members, CIFOR-ICRAF scientists, donors, and regional partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners and funding organisations.
• Support resource mobilisation efforts, including proposal development, donor coordination, and reporting.
• Coordinate with CIFOR-ICRAF networks to strengthen technical support and evidence-based approaches.
• Support monitoring, evaluation, learning, and impact assessment processes.
• Track key performance indicators, document lessons learned, and generate impact stories.
• Prepare and manage annual work plans and budgets to ensure strategic and transparent use of resources.
Applicants should possess:
• A university degree in a field relevant to sustainable development goals and one or more of the GLF thematic areas.
• At least five years of professional experience in community engagement, international development, partnership coordination, landscape restoration, youth engagement, network management, Indigenous Peoples initiatives, youth-led movements, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience planning, implementing, and evaluating complex projects and community engagement initiatives.
• Proven experience coordinating multicultural and geographically dispersed teams and partnerships.
• Experience managing grants, donor-funded activities, budgets, and reporting processes, which will be considered an advantage.
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate activities across different time zones and cultural contexts.
• Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one additional language, preferably French, Portuguese, or Spanish.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
• Strategic leadership and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Strong partnership-building and networking capabilities.
• Project management and organisational skills.
• Intercultural sensitivity and ability to work in diverse environments.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote and globally distributed environment.
• This is a full-time consultancy position.
• The consultancy period will run from July 2026 to June 2027, with the possibility of extension.
• The position is home-based and preferably suited to candidates located within UTC to UTC+3 time zones.
